Mariya Tambuwal Development Initiative set to partner with MedShare to supply free medical equipment’s to rural hospitals in Sokoto state.
The Wife of the executive Governor of Sokoto and Founder and Executive Director of MTDI, Hajiya Mariya Aminu Waziri Tambuwal today paid a visit to MedShare Headquarters in Atlanta Georgia where she was received by Medshare’s Vice President of Corporate and International Relations, Nell Diallo.
MedShare is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare and the environment through the efficient recovery and redistribution of the surplus. MedShare has shipped more than 1,000 free forty-foot tractor-trailer size containers to over 96 developing countries and territories. In the past 5 years, MedShare has shipped more than $1,000,000 worth of free medicals supplies to other Nigerian state.
MedShare expressed their readiness to support the Mariya Tambuwal Development Initiative by providing access to medical supplies and equipment. Mrs. Diallo also assured Hajiya Mariya Tambuwal that her organization will also provide technical assistance for the equipment provided.
In her remarks, Hajiya Mariya A W Tambuwal appreciated the support and audience given to her by the organisation and assured them of a perfect partnership.
According to a popular saying, Health is Wealth. Since May 2015, when her husband was sworn in as the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Hajiya Mariya Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has dedicated her time and resourcing on improving the lives of underprivileged women and children in Sokoto state. Through her Mariya Tambuwal Development Initiative, she has encouraged and supported projects that complement the government’s effort to ensure that poor women, widows and orphans have access to adequate healthcare.
